In urbanistic analogy to the Multihalle, the indoor and outdoor pool is placed with its narrow side orthogonal to Max-Joseph-Strasse. The main entrance located here is preceded by an inviting and address-forming forecourt. With a generous gesture, the indoor pool opens up to the existing park-like outdoor pool landscape, so that the interior and exterior merge visually. The new combined pool benefits from a unique location, close to Mannheim's city center and yet in the middle of a grown park. To take maximum advantage of this fantastic location, the bathing hall opens fully glazed to the park landscape in front. The staggered height of the pools that slopes down to the park and the cantilevered canopy additionally support the interlocking of pool and park. Plenty of daylight falls into the interior of the bathroom through the skylights recessed into the roof. The bathing guest in the house feels as if he is bathing in the park.
