The new entrance and restaurant building of the Grugapark is conceived as a continuation of the color terraces, which is why it moves from the edge of the park a little further south into the park. A clearly structured wooden roof marks the location. Three cubes made of rammed earth tower above the flat silhouette of the wooden roof. The cubes are interpreted as oversized plant troughs, the roofs of which are intensively and colorfully planted. The surrounding wooden roof carries photovoltaic elements to supply the house with its own electricity. Three openings are cut out of the roof surface, which clearly define functionally dedicated open spaces. On the north side, there is a generous, spatially defined arrival area, to the south an open terrace for the restaurant with a view of the park and to the west a separate forecourt for the multifunctional room, which is oriented towards the Green School. Sun sails, pergolas or trellises can be inserted into the four openings in the roof area. The wooden roof cantilevers out on all four sides by around 2 meters and offers park visitors protection from the rain and sun. This also creates an inviting gesture on all sides without backs. The long side of the dining room faces the park to the south. This means that all guests can sit in the front row with a view of the park.
