Town center with Diepold Tower

Mönsheim, 2004 / 4th prize

The existing height offset between the church, town hall and wine press and the lower-lying Pforzheimer Strasse is being developed into a traffic-calmed town terrace that stretches between the church in the west and the Diepoldsturm in the east and invites citizens and guests of Mönsheim to take a stroll. The natural stone wall, flanked by trees, creates an attractive belvedere on which public and semi-public buildings are arranged as geometrically free solitaires to form a striking town panorama. The historic Diepold Tower will be made accessible to visitors as a vantage point.
