New publication: Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg in the DAB German Architects' Journal

In the current issue (June 2021) of DAB German Architects' Journal, Christoph Gunßer has published an article about the Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg.

Together with the John Cranko Ballet School in Stuttgart by Burger Rudacs Architects, two cultural buildings are presented here that were erected on a steep sloped lot while "cutting a timeless good figure."

New project: German Embassy Chisinau / Republic of Moldova

We are pleased to have been awarded the contract in the negotiated procedure for the new building of the German Embassy in Chisinau / Republic of Moldova.

On the site, which was acquired by the Federal Republic of Germany, the Chancellery and Residence are to be housed in a joint new building. The new building will integrate a listed house damaged by earthquakes, built in 1887 as a residence and converted into a school in 1913.

Mainzer Tor in Miltenberg published on divisare.com

We are happy about a new publication: The Italian online platform "divisare" has published our project "Mainzer Tor - Museum Depot, City Archive and Youth Center in Miltenberg".

The new building at the foot of the Schlossberg replaces a car dealership at the western entrance to the city that has been abandoned for several years.

New film about the Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg

The film team of 9sekunden from Osnabrück has set the scene for our Museum and Cultural forum in Arnsberg in an atmospheric five-minute video.

"Experiencing space takes movement and time. As if through a personal experience on site, moving stills can reveal those aspects of space, which are hidden between the lines", the filmmakers point out .

Nominated for the BDA Architecture Award of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia

We are pleased: The BDA Bund Deutscher Architektinnen und Architekten (Association of German Architects) has nominated our Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg for the BDA Architecture Award of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia 2021.

A total of 33 projects have qualified to take part in this architecture award. The jury will select the winners on June 22, 2021 in the Liebfrauenkirche in Duisburg.

Concept for a House for Dance and Choreography in Berlin

Exciting task for our office: Together with Lisa Densem, Ulrike Kunert, Moritz Majce, Shahrzad Rahmani and Frans Swarte, we were commissioned by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe to create a concept for a future House for Dance and Choreography in Berlin.

Over the next eight months, our interdisciplinary team will develop a content concept for a place of encounter and movement - a place of art, experimentation and research.

BDA Award for the Museum and Cultural Forum South Westphalia in Arnsberg

Great success for the Museum and Cultural Forum South Westphalia in Arnsberg: At the BDA Architecture Prize South Westphalia 2020 our project received an award.

"The result is a striking museum that enriches the city of Arnsberg in its historic center in an extraordinarily successful way with a modern and emblematic building," was the jury's verdict.

In the BDA Architecture Prize, which is presented every three years, the jury assigned only one award and two honorable mentions.

Guest lecture and guest review by Martin Bez at the aac Hamburg

Martin Bez gave a guest lecture at the aac Academy for Architectural Culture. Under the title "3 x OLD + NEW", the main focus was on how to deal with historic existing buildings and their structural extension.

Honorable mention in the competition "Extension of the Dresden University of Music"

Good news from Dresden: Our competition design for the extension of the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden received a honorable mention. "The House for Music appears to be an independent solitaire on the outside, but on the inside, especially in the foyer area, it cleverly blends into an interior unity with the existing building," was the jury's verdict.

A total of 23 works were submitted to this competition, 3 prizes and 2 honorable mentions were awarded.

Secondary School in Greven receives an honorable mention at the Architecture Award of the BDA Münster 2020

Our Science Center for the Augustinianum Secondary School in Greven has received an honorable mention at the BDA Architecture Award Münster and Münsterland 2020. We are very happy about this!

A total of 39 buildings were submitted for the BDA Architecture Prize, which is awarded every three years; 5 received an honorable mention and 2 received an award.

1st prize in the competition Criminal Investigation Department and Police Station in Calw

And the winner is .... We are very pleased about our competition success! Our design for the new building of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Police Station in Calw was awarded 1st prize.

"A design that fits particularly well into the urban situation in terms of scale and integrates quite naturally into its surroundings", was the verdict of the jury chaired by Prof. Jörg Aldinger.

New publication: German Architecture Annual 2021 of the DAM

To coincide with the recently opened exhibition of the DAM Prize at the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt, DOM Publishers (Berlin) has published the German Architecture Annual 2021. Here, all 25 projects on the shortlist of the DAM Prize for Architecture in Germany are presented in detail by renowned authors.

The architectural historian and exhibition curator Hans-Dieter Nägelke has written a text about our Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg.

New model of the Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg

The studio for architectural models Boris Degen has created a wooden model of the Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg for the exhibition of the DAM Prize for Architecture in Germany 2021.

The new 1:100 scale model, which also shows the museum courtyard at Landsberger Hof, will be exhibited at the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt until June 13th, 2021.

It remains exciting: Fundació Mies van der Rohe postpones the decision on the EU Mies Award 21

Due to "present circumstances", the Fundació Mies van der Rohe has decided to postpone the EU Mies Award 21, originally planned for this year, until 2022. All nominated projects completed between October 2018 and April 2021 will now be considered.

The shortlist for the internationally renowned architecture prize will not be announced until January 2022.

Start of construction for the German Embassy in Rabat

We are pleased to announce the start of construction for the new building of the German Embassy in Morocco, which officially took place on November 27th, 2020.

The compact structure, which will house the residence and chancellery, is being built in the center of the Moroccan capital Rabat and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 / beginning of 2024.

Online exhibition opening at the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt

Today the exhibition for the "DAM Prize for Architecture in Germany 2021" opens at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt. The event will take place online for the first time: At 6:00 pm the livestream opens with the presentation of the award winners and the projects of the shortlist. Also participating is our Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg.

The exhibition period has been extended until June 13, 2021, so a physical visit to the prestigious exhibition should also be possible.

Good news: Our Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg has been nominated by the online platform "Archdaily.com" for the Building of the Year 2021 Award.

In the current issue of the Spanish art magazine "ars" an article about our Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg was published.

2nd prize in the competition 'Design Studio in Selb (Bavaria)'

Our competition design for the "New construction of a Design Studio for the State Vocational School and Technical School for Product Design in Selb" has received a 2nd prize. We are very pleased about this.

"With a sensitively structured building, the work succeeds in creating an unobtrusive but charming space at Hutschenreuther Platz", was the jury's verdict.

Award of contract in the negotiated procedure "Justizviertel Stuttgart"

We are pleased to have been awarded the contract in the negotiated procedure for the construction of a new courtroom building in Stuttgart's judicial district.

There, 17 courtrooms are to be created for the Regional Court and the Higher Regional Court in a tight, inner-city situation.

New publication: Architecture Guide Sauerland

With more than 100 selected buildings, the Architectural Guide Sauerland now published by DOM Publishers (Berlin) shows the "architectural diversity of this region", which is known above all for its forests and mountains, rivers and lakes.

We are pleased that the author Anselm Weyer has also included our Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg in his selection of over 200 pages.

Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg in Products in Practice

The English magazine PiP Products in Practice (supplement of the RIBA Journal from London) has published our Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg in its current issue (Nov/Dec 2020).

The author Pamela Buxton interviewed our project leader Meredith Atkinson and described in her text especially the use of the Gauinger travertine.

New logo for Bez+Kock Architekten

The Stuttgart office for visual communication collect has designed our new logo. Based on the previous logo, a simplification of the existing contour and a reduction to only one color was created.

The new logo is reminiscent of the old one, but at the same time presents itself as a clearly new form. We are happy about the new appearance, which now determines our corporate design.

DOM Publishers (Berlin) has published the new Architecture Guide Germany 2021, which presents 99 recently completed buildings.

We are pleased that our projects Mainzer Tor in Miltenberg and Museum and Cultural Forum in Arnsberg are included in this "Guide Michelin of German architecture".

New Publication: Fascination Concrete

Under the title Fascination Concrete the author Chris van Uffelen has published a new book about the "most used building material of our time".

Among the international projects that exemplify the diverse applications of concrete is our building for the Traffic police service in Aschaffenburg-Hösbach. The 192-page book was published by Braun Publishing.

Start of construction in the Kulturraffinerie in Monheim

At the start of our project Kulturraffinerie K714 in Monheim, demolition work began this week in the former barrel filling plant of the Shell refinery.

In the immediate vicinity of the Rhine promenade, a multifunctional event hall will be built in the historic brick building. Completion is planned for 2023/2024.

Gymnasium Augustinianum in Greven published in bba bau beratung architektur

In its current issue (10/2020), the trade magazine bba bau beratung architektur reports on our project "Science Center for the Augustinianum Secondary School Greven", completed in 2018.

The focus of the article entitled "Concentrated monolithic" is the striking façade made of water-struck clinker in an earthy gray-brown color.
