House of citizens and clubs

Pöcking, 2010 / Purchase

The new construction of the House of Citizens and Clubs represents the first important step in the reorganization of the existing sports park in Pöcking. The three buildings are staggered like windmills on the construction site, which gives the buildings a certain urban autonomy and at the same time allows them to work together spatially. The Haus der Bürger und Vereine, the first building phase, is oriented towards the town center with its entrance and face towards an attractive square in front of it. All above-ground components are built as a timber frame construction with fine vertical board cladding on the outside made of silver-colored glazed larch wood. The chosen glaze anticipates the patination of the wood and thus creates a durable and high-quality appearance. The choice of local timber as a renewable and therefore resource-saving building material plays a central role in the sustainable concept of the design.
