Town hall

Walzbachtal, 2013 / 2nd prize

The new town hall will be located as a slender, gabled building in the northeast corner of the property. Due to its elongated shape, it is able to play to the depth of the property. The striking gable facing Wössinger Straße sets a building accent and is clearly recognizable as the town hall in the urban space. The front plaza creates an appropriately representative forecourt for the municipal administration. The new building integrates itself into the small-scale development structure of the community through its saddle roof, and is still clearly recognizable as a contemporary piece of architecture. The building body, which is provided with a light scratch plaster, has serial windows, each framed by a strong frame. The council chamber under the roof will receive a generous panoramic window with a view over the community, and the wedding room will be assigned a wedding balcony with a view of the church.
