The new square building will stand alongside the existing town hall. The building will become an organizing urban building block in the quarter. The entrance will be from the south side, so that the building will form a clear address on the square together with the existing town hall. The strikingly rhythmic perforated façade is accentuated in the area of the large hall and the entrance. Inside, the new building displays a surprising spatial diversity. The four storeys are grouped around an inner courtyard, which widens upwards in a cascade and allows daylight to flood into the center of the building. The sequence of spaces - square - hall - foyer - inner courtyard can be opened up to each other, allowing a variety of different usage scenarios. The new building is to be constructed in brick masonry and finished with a light-colored lime plaster. The slanted window reveals are oriented towards the sun and thus ensure maximum daylight yield with a low proportion of glazing.
