The new town hall, a three-part building, blends seamlessly into the polygonal site. Its gabled roofs reflect the scale of the town. The offset floor plan structure allows for a flexible approach to the varied requirements regarding setbacks and topography. The Janus-faced building features a striking gable facing both the market square and the church square, thereby shaping the future center of Markt Merings. The two entrances integrate the town hall with the surrounding town and the topography. The historic Beneficiate House becomes a natural part of the town hall complex while simultaneously retaining its solitary status. Both construction phases ultimately result in a unified town hall that defines the town’s identity.
